Foot blisters are the bane of athletes, particularly distance and trail runners. Its’ one of those injuries that are so common they tend to be discounted.  Although they rarely keep runners sidelined, they do take a physical and mental toll!  Blister occurrence has been investigated in athletes, hikers and in military populations and ranges from 39% to 50%. 
Unfortunately, blister management has not progressed significantly in recent decades and blisters remain a familiar injury requiring treatment.
Stopping blisters is all too often a hit and miss affair. Tapes, lubricants, specialised socks ... the results are typically mixed to poor.

San Diego is the next stop on the ITU World Triathlon Series circuit, with the best in the world descending on the location where it all started in 39 years ago.
