Heading to the Contact Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge this weekend? Make sure you visit the BikeNZ stand to have a go on the Watt Bikes to compare your peak power and flying 200m against BikeNZ’s ‘Cycling Stig’.

This Friday at event registration riders will be able to compare their power and 200m time on the BikeNZ leader board with the Cycling Stig, national team riders, celebrities and their mates! There is a competition to guess the identity of the Cycling Stig.

BikeNZ are lucky to have two WattBikes, created with British Cycling, which help analyse power output and efficiency of a rider’s pedal stroke.

‘Guess the Cycling Stig’ correctly and go into the draw to win one of seven spot prizes from Avanti, Bluebridge, Leppin, Thule, SKINS, Adidas and Nature Valley. Principal sponsor RaboDirect will also be giving away Rabobank Pro Team official kit as spot prizes just by giving the Watt Bikes a go.

RadioShack rider Sam Bewley (7:30pm) and Commonwealth Games hero Gordon McCauley (3pm) will be on the BikeNZ stand to chat about all things cycling and give advice. Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge Guide author Amy Taylor will be answering your questions at 6pm.

Riders can join the RaboDirect RideStrong Ranking Series for only $15 on the day and have their ride count towards their national recreational rider ranking. All entrants go into the draw to win a Tour de France Experience with the Rabobank Pro Team, thanks to RaboDirect.

On Saturday there will be a BikeNZ SKINS recovery tent where riders can receive expert recovery advice, try an ice bath, warm down on the Avanti wind trainers, and receive a massage. All Ridestrong paid members, BikeNZ license members, or those wearing SKINS can have a FREE massage post their ride.

Make sure you visit the BikeNZ stand on Friday and Saturday to pick up a 30% discount voucher for the purchase of SKINS at the event, sample Nature Valley bars, and check out the great new book ‘Classic New Zealand Road Rides’ by Jonathan Kennett and Kieran Turner.
