The latest Kiwi to take the Melbourne culinary scene by storm is restaurateur, author and TV personality Iain “Huey” Hewitson with his opening of Big Huey’s Diner in South Melbourne.

Channelling a 1950s rock’n’roll theme, the American-style diner’s menu offers a fresh take on classic Americana serving up favourites such as burgers, burritos, hotdogs and po’boys with a personalised ‘Huey’ twist.

Big Huey’s Diner is another notch on the belt for Hewitson, who co-owns St Kilda’s Barney Allen’s.

Big Huey’s Diner is open Tuesday to Sunday from 12pm.
