Name drop alert, and let’s be honest, if you could, you would, too.
New York trio LOLAWOLF have dropped their new single ‘Jimmy Franco’ and announced their debut album Stay Calm will be released October 10 via Create Control and Innit Recordings.
Fronted by Zoë Kravitz (everyone’s current/soon to be girlcrush), LOLAWOLF also includes Jimmy Giannopoulos and James Levy from Reputante (whose record is out on Julian Casablancas' label Cult Records).
The accompanying video for ‘Jimmy Franco’ features A$AP Rocky and was shot by Jon Hoeg in New York artist Kenny Scharf's Bushwick space.
Calm Down, the band's debut LP, was recorded earlier this year in the Bahamas and Las Vegas. Produced by band member Jimmy Giannopoulos, the album finds the band emphasising hip-hop and tribal elements.
The album is the follow-up to the band's five-song debut EP released earlier in 2014, which Pitchfork described as "surging electronic pop." Neon Gold called lead track ‘Drive (Los Angeles)’ "a perfect piece of distinctive, melody-driven, back-to-the-future synth candy."
Known for crowd-pleasing live shows LOLAWOLF toured the United States with Polica in June and is currently on the road with Lily Allen and Mr Little Jeans.
NBD you guys. N.B.D.
