Chelsea Jade announces the anticipated release of the Beacons EP, due out October 24 via Universal Music NZ. The announcement comes with the premiere of the video for ‘Night Swimmer’, directed by Alexandar Gandar. Produced by Justyn Pilbrow with additional recordings by Ben Lawson, the EP will feature six new tracks under her new musical persona.

“Beacons are both warning signals and guiding lights. This EP is both for me in equal measure - distant but formidable.”

Chelsea Jade’s prowess as a songwriter has caught the attention of the annual Red Bull Music Academy. This year, they received over 6000 applicants from over 111 countries and only 60 people have been chosen to attend - Chelsea Jade is one of them and the only New Zealand representative. The highly regarded event has played host to iconic artists in the past, from Erykah Badu to Philip Glass, Q-Tip to James Murphy, Brian Eno to Kim Gordon. This year, the event will be held in Tokyo, where Chelsea Jade will be asked to perform and attend a series of unordinary lectures.

Before Chelsea Jade embarks on Japan, she’ll be performing at the infamous CMJ Music Marathon in New York, where over 1400 acts will perform in one week across 80 of the city’s greatest venues.
