Forget listing fees and commission structures – now you can buy and sell your new and secondhand goods for free from your smartphone.

New Kiwi shopping site SellShed makes it easier than ever to buy and sell everything from property, to cars, to used clothing, and it’s completely free.

The New Zealand-designed app uses Facebook integrated technology, meaning it’s easy to use, and SellShed’s marketing director Peter Howell says sellers can quickly create new item or service posts with just their mobile phones.

Once you list your item – whether it’s a job, house, pet, or that well-loved toy your little one never uses anymore - on SellShed, it is placed on the browse stream which is searchable in a Facebook style framework.

The post can easily be added to your own Facebook page as well, so it’s easy to let your friends and family know what you’re looking to sell without any fuss.

SellShed also has a unique feature not available on other popular trading sites – the ability to easily create an ‘items wanted’ list which will show matches with a potential seller if those items come up for sale.

Howell says the site is completely free for people to buy and sell products of all kinds – including kids’ clothing and toys, pets/animal accessories, property, vehicles and jobs - with the company’s revenue derived from advertising and possibly premium services in the future.
Because there is no listing or commission fees, you can even arrange to swap or part pay/part swap for an item, giving far greater flexibility in your trades.

“People can trade new and second¬hand goods and look for specific items they want to purchase. Browsers can list items quickly and receive notifications of new items they are looking for within their area. They can use SellShed to trade safely, quickly, locally free of charge,” says Howell.

The web version is available at www.SellShed.co.nz and the free app can be downloaded from the Apple iTunes store.
