A finish with a bang – the ENGADINSNOW by Dakine 2015 had everything a freeriders heart could desire, lots of snow and sunny conditions. The FWQ 4* Final and the unique Parallel Freeride Contest were held at the Northface of Mount Corvatsch.

Winner in the category ski at the FWQ 4* Final were Ivan Malakhov from Russia for the men and Evelina Nilsson SWE for the women. In the category snowboard Stefano Munari from Italy and Mikaela Hollsten from Finland were on the top of the podium.

As for the Parallel Freeride contest the American team with George Rodney and Kyle Taylor was winning the competition.

More snowfalls and severe wind conditions in the past few days led the mountain guides to check one more time the Northface of Mount Corvatsch so that the contest could start under highest safety precautions.

The North Face of Mount Corvatsch was an incredibly spectacular playground for all the riders today.

Already the Final of the FWQ 4* Contests brought huge action. For the skiers Ivan Malakhov from Russia convinced the judges with his spectacular run. Second places is Solan Dejouy from from France with a not much less incredible show and on the third place of the podium stood Leo Slemett from France who won yesterday’s qualification. For the ladies Evelina Nilsson from Sweden won the competition. She left second placed Arianna Tricomi from Italy and Anna Khankevich from Russia behind.

In the snowboard category Stefano Munari from Italy impressed the crowd and judges and ended up first placed. Followed by Christoffer Granbom from Sweden and David Vincente from Spain. For the women Mikaela Hollsten from Finland made in on the top of the podium. Second placed is Petra Schwarz, Germany, and on the third place is Anna Orlova from Russia.

At the Parallel Freeride Contest a knockout system led to the final matchup being Americans George Rodney and Kyle Taylor going up against the French-Austrian connection Ferdinand Winter (AUT) and Leo Slemett (FRA), who participated already at the final of the FWQ 4* Event. The format of the competition was very enjoyable for the riders and the crowd. The riders were able to do two runs down the North Face and arrived completely out of breath at the finish but with huge smiles on their faces.

The American winners brought a technical and fast run and impressed the judges.
Smiling faces all around at the flower ceremony on Mount Corvatsch after a perfect day with beautiful conditions. A very happy organiser was left, delighted to have experienced another safe and actionloaded event.
