John Varvatos Artisan Acqua combines an invigorating citrus blend with accents of spices and herbs for a unique woody aroma, embodying the confidence, creativity, and passion of the modern man.  A fresh scent with authentic roots, the herbal masculine notes result in a revitalised take on the previous Artisan fragrance.  The Mediterranean-inspired Artisan Acqua fragrance brings the intricate designs and unique Italian hand finishing reminiscent of the designer’s Artisan collection to life.

The newest innovation in the John Varvatos fragrance portfolio, Artisan Acqua bears the imprint of the John Varvatos collection: the signature mix of old world craftsmanship and the sophistication of modern technique.  Much like a wardrobe, each Collection Fragrance represents a different sensibility to suit the wearer’s attitude, mood or circumstance.  Inspired by the notion of luxury and the uninhibited allure of the region, Artisan Acqua embodies the panache and leisure of the Mediterranean man who, without over thinking, achieves high style and an effortless nonchalance.

“Artisan Acqua is the new and reinvigorated addition to the Artisan fragrances,” said John Varvatos.  “Inspired by a unity of artisanal craftsmanship and sophisticated technique, this fragrance is truly a one-of-a kind creation that brings to life the artisanal approach used in old Italian hand finishing and unique DNA of my collection.”

The fragrance is the result of a long-standing collaboration between Varvatos and Givaudan Senior Perfumer, Rodrigo Flores-Roux.  “This fragrance is the third expression of the fresh, effortless and enlightened universe that is the Artisan series,” said Flores-Roux.  “It was important to John and I that we continue the Artisan saga with a truly diverse and dynamic fragrance.  A scent that can be worn day to night, dressed up or down - a scent that remains true to the Varvatos collection heritage and the unique ‘Artisan’ esthetic and artistry for which the designer is celebrated.” 

A celebration of the unique John Varvatos DNA, the Artisan portfolio tells the story of the designer’s passion for detail and tailoring.

THE FRAGRANCE

TOP NOTES:  The fragrance opens with a citrus cocktail of Tangelo, Mandarin, and Paradisamide. Galbanum, Lentisque, and Angelica Root bring a fresh and green harmony to the opening notes of the scent.

HEART NOTES: Herbal spicy accents of Clary Sage, Lavender, Coriander, Toscanol®, and Basil compliment the notes of Geranium, Palmarosa, Jasmine Sambac resulting in a sensual masculine floralcy.

BACKGROUND: A woody base of Moss, Patchouli and Fir Balsam lingers, bringing a refined and artisanal touch to the base notes of the fragrance.

Artisan Acqua rounds off the beautiful trio of handcrafted and distinctly packaged Artisan fragrances.  The attention to detail and craftsmanship seen in John Varvatos garments and leather goods are brought to life in the fragrance packaging, with each bottle being hand-woven from natural materials for a one-of-a-kind creation.  As a result of the meticulous attention to detail and high quality craftsmanship, each fragrance possesses its own eclectic character and an unmistakable sense of crafted luxury and charm.  As with the original Artisan scent, the hand-woven rattan bottle was inspired by the clean lines and casual elegance of a traditional flask, finished with an antiqued cap and artfully engraved tag.  The Artisan profile echoes the contemporary silhouette of the John Varvatos Collection fragrances, with each scent presented to employ different textures creating a striking new design and identity.
