Cyclevox announces launch of world's first ever women's cycling channel - VOXWOMEN

Cyclevox, the UK’s leading cycling commentary, PR and production company, has today announced the launch of the world’s first dedicated women’s cycling video channel, Voxwomen (www.voxwomen.com).

The initiative will launch on Saturday, 28 February, on a weekend where women’s cycling will be in the spotlight as Dame Sarah Storey takes on the World Hour Record.

The online service, which is produced by women for women, will give subscribers an exclusive insight into the women’s international peloton. Viewers will enjoy news coverage of some of the world’s greatest female cycling events, rider interviews, cycling challenges, ‘top tips’, ‘top tens, how to’ content plus much more.

Cyclevox Founder and UCI Women’s World Cup Commentator, Anthony McCrossan, is launching Voxwomen to give female professional cyclists a voice and to encourage equality across the sport.

He said: “Cycling’s popularity is rapidly growing however there is a real need for on-going investment in women’s cycling at the highest level. I have always been an advocate of the women’s professional racing scene and am pleased to be able to assist with the continued growth of the sport through the creation of Voxwomen.

“We will utlise the production skills and expertise built up by Cyclevox over the last seven years to create fresh, female focused content which I’m certain will inspire riders of all levels and ages to join us on our Voxwomen journey. We have brought together a great team of women who have been working hard to pull our first videos together. The response from the professional teams we have filmed has been fantastic”

Leading industry organisations, Madison and Trek have both backed the channel and have signed up as Voxwomen Founding Sponsors. Sufferfest,, which offers high-intensity cycling training videos, is also working with the channel as a Voxwomen Partner.

The Voxwomen team is:

Bryony Burton: Bryony comes from a mountain biking family and has followed the sport for many years. Since taking the position of Production Manager at Cyclevox in 2013, Bryony has worked at a number of international cycling events including the Revolution Series, the British Cycling Elite Road and Circuit Series and the British National Criterium Championships. She also has covered other cycling events including the London to Paris and the Alpine Challenge.

Lois Dowsett: Lois has worked in television production for the last few years and has extensive knowledge of the sport. She covered the 2014 Giro d’Italia for Sky Sports, was Production Assistant at The Cycle Show and the Assistant Producer at the 2014 Tour of Britain. Lois fell in love with cycling in her early teens after her older brother started competing and she has never looked back. She has since ridden the Prudential RideLondon and Dunwich Dymano sportives and is keen to inspire other females to take up the sport. 

Kimberley Keay: Kim was born into a cycling family and started competing from the age of eight. She raced internationally for Great Britain on a number of occasions and won several British National Titles in road and track disciplines. She has a wealth of communications experience having worked numerous organisations including Sky Sports covering the Tour Down Under, British Cycling and women’s online magazine, Sportsister. Kim continues to be passionate about the sport and raising the profile of women’s cycling.

Laura Winter: Laura is a sports presenter, event host, and a sports journalist. Formerly a competitive swimmer and rower, she caught the cycling bug and has been hooked ever since, both riding socially and reporting from events such as the London Track World Cup and the British Elite Road Race Series. Laura has worked at some of the biggest sporting events in the world, including the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and champions’ women’s sport.
