What a ski party: Under blues skies and best conditions, Tina Maze and Adrien Théaux are the winners of the fourth edition of Red Bull SKiLLS. The international field of participants attracted many spectators to the Silvano Beltrametti World Cup track at Lenzerheide and ensured a spectacular ending of a long season.

The international World Cup racers had to wait for a long time. Today, on March 29th, they finally got to see somebody else but Swiss-Ski athletes on top of the Red Bull SKILLS podium – for the first time since 2012, 2013 and 2014. The Slowenian runner-up of the overall World Cup, Tina Maze, and Frenchman Adrien Théaux were able push the winners of the previous year, Denise Feierabend and Mauro Caviezel respectively, back to second places.

Four disciplines all in one course, no stopping, no changing of the skis. The stars had to put their versatile qualities to the test. They had to stand against the Challengers who had qualified in three qualifying events for the finals. The transition from Super-G into the slalom – most riders used giant slalom skis – was pretty tricky. A choice of the world’s best skiers, both male and female, met the challenge: Among others there were Fritz Dopfer (GER), Patrick Küng (SUI), Frida Hansdotter (SWE), Tina Weirather (LIE), Davide Simoncelli (ITA) and Eva-Maria Brem (AUT), and all of them had their share of fun at the same time.

"I am really content. Being a part of this event alone is amazing. I had so much fun here on the Lenzerheide. Winning is the total highlight“, stated Théaux, who in all this exaltation didn’t forget to thank the audience for a great day and an even greater race.

After a long World Cup season that had taken its tolls physically as well as mentally, Tina Maze took it easy, too. „A race with four disciplines is just cut out for me. I have proved that I can be fast in all disciplines.“ She didn’t forget to stress the fact that besides all the fun, it’s important to live up to your abilities. „You need to ski well here in order to be fast and make it across the finish line safely.“ Tina Maze, last year’s third, was both: safe and fast.

At the Hotel Kurhaus Lenzerheide, both stars and Challengers will clink glasses tonight to the
upcoming summer in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Both the challengers and the seasoned pros deserve it.
