Wearable technology sent to Nepal to aid earthquake emergency

As an Indiegogo fundraiser gains traction, the funds have enabled the first shipment of self-charging, wearable hands free lights to be sent to Nepal, for distribution to the homeless people, to help them survive, restore and rebuild their lives.

This  Indiegogo fundraiser, tagged #GiveNepalLight, was set up at the requests of people in Nepal, to send them the innovative 2C Solar Light Caps, which can provide years of hands-free light without the need for batteries.

"When countries are hit by such extreme disaster, electrical grids fail for extended periods of time, and portable light soon becomes an essential need. For people to endure continuing aftershocks and the stress that comes with them, comfort can be provided during the long dark night with the aid of these 2C Solar Light Caps", says inventor, Simon Dyer.  "Because they are self-charging by amorphous photovoltaic solar power, the person wearing them can expect light every night to help them for many years, with no ongoing maintenance or cost."

The company that makes the 2C Solar Light Caps, 2C Light Company Ltd., is supplying them at cost, and working with the support of partners TSN Corporation in Nepal who will arrange distribution to the people in need.
