Chorus Cabinet Box Art Competition Launched

Chorus Cabinet Box Art Competition Launched

3 August 2015, 3:38PM
Hamilton City Council

The search is on for artists to paint murals on selected Chorus cabinets throughout the city.

Twenty cabinets have already had murals applied, and Chorus and Hamilton City Council are looking for artists who can decorate another 10 cabinets. Artists will receive $1000 for their efforts.

When the murals are applied, the cabinets will become works of art in the street, often telling stories about the communities in which they are located. A coat of graffiti guard is applied when the artwork has been completed. All finished art is considered for the 2017 Chorus cabinet art calendar.

Artists who are interested in taking part need to supply an A4 hand sketch of their design, say which cabinet they want to work on and provide a description of what their design means. They should also provide a brief biography.  This information should be sent to jo.seddon@chorus.co.nz by 16 October.
