Keeping up appearances can take a bit of effort, and while colour-treated hair can look amaing, it can also be left feeling dry, unnourished and brittle.

Introducing Imprivo™, a revolutionary new boutique range of salon and home-based hair care treatments that are scientifically proven to strengthen chemically coloured hair and give it the TLC it needs.

Created by scientists and manufactured in New Zealand, Imprivo is a world first, containing a special formula that withholds a unique natural bio-protein derived from Bovine Seminal Plasma (BSP).

Dr Vish Vishwanath, Technical Director from The Natural Protein Company, says: “BSP contains remarkable natural properties which help restore and strengthen chemically damaged hair.”

Lynne Webster, Managing Director of The Natural Protein Company, which markets the Imprivo range, is also a well-known bull farmer in the Waikato. The BSP is sourced from bulls reared on green, clean pastures in the Waikato and is collected using a routine and harmless technique. It is then purified and formulated to use in the Imprivo products.

“As well as protecting the hair from the harsh chemicals that are used in the colouring and bleaching process, BSP helps to condition, increase volume and has anti-bacterial components that may promote a healthy scalp,” continues Dr Vish.

He adds, “BSP is certainly very special and when combined with the finest quality ingredients used within the Imprivo range, the results are remarkable – delivering an impressive and highly effective hair care system.”

Independent research has revealed that colour treated hair not only benefits from regular use of Imprivo products, hair is shown to be notably stronger and less prone to breakage.

Sarah Malcolm, Sales Co-ordinator for Imprivo, says: “Having worked in the hair dressing business for over nine years, I’ve seen many hair care treatments. What really sets the Imprivo products aside from anything else available is they are natural, provide amazing results and have the scientific research behind them to show they really work!”

“While using BSP in the Imprivo products is pretty unique, using protein to treat hair isn’t. Many other conditioners use proteins either derived from eggs or from plant sources, however these do not appear to be as effective as the protein from BSP,” says Dr Vish.

“I’m sure some will be surprised to hear about the properties of BSP, however we feel in a world moving away from chemicals and more towards natural products, it’s a win win situation. Our research also speaks volumes, showing it helps strengthen hair weakened by chemical colouring.”
