Invercargill City Council

Acclaimed international soprano Dame Kiri Te Kanawa will be performing a special recital celebrating the elegance of the Classical and Romantic eras, to be held at the Invercargill Civic Theatre on March 10, 2016.

Venues Manager Kate Feaver said it was very exciting to be able to provide such a unique evening at the Theatre.

“We anticipate a sell-out crowd for what could be Dame Kiri’s last tour.”

Dame Kiri said she was delighted to be invited to perform at the Civic Theatre.

“This is not my first visit to Invercargill but I am really looking forward to it.  I hope those who attend will enjoy the musical experience. The songs I have selected are all personal favourites. It is always a pleasure to share my music.”

Dame Kiri will be accompanied by renowned New Zealand pianist Terence Dennis, performing a selection of her favorite arias and songs from Mozart, Handel, Liszt and Puccini to Heggie, Gusatavino and Canteloube.
