Christmas is almost here and Hamilton is getting ready early to welcome the festive season.  Hamilton Christmas City has launched a design competition for kids to create a Christmas e-card showing what Christmas in Hamilton means to them.

The winning design, selected by Mayor Julie Hardaker, will feature as the Hamilton City Council’s Christmas e-card and the winning artist will receive a fabulous Christmas present and VIP passes to the First Credit Union Christmas Parade.

Mayor Julie Hardaker says this is a chance for kids to show what makes celebrating Christmas in Hamilton special.
“Christmas is a family time of year and kids really know how to get in the Christmas spirit. This is the first year the Council will have a Christmas e-card, and what better way to launch it than to give Hamilton kids the opportunity to design it.”

Entry forms are available online at hamiltonchristmascity.co.nz or hardcopies can be collected from Hamilton City Council, any city library, Hamilton Pools or Waikato Museum. The competition is open to all Hamilton children 13 years old and under. Entries close 5pm, Friday 13 November.
