These tea towels do more than simply dry dishes – they help thousands of Kiwi kids learn more about food.

How you ask? By empowering the next generation of New Zealanders with food knowledge and skills they can use forever.

The Garden To Table Trust is a nation-wide charity programme that sees kids enthusiastically getting their hands dirty learning how to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal food.

Now the trust is asking for a little help to support its good work producing a line of two, beautiful 100 per cent cotton tea towels to raise funds for its work.

The tea towels are $25 each or two for $40 and the sales proceeds will help in the teaching of fundamental life skills to enhance the futures of New Zealand children.

Garden to Table founding trustee Catherine Bell says the curriculum-linked programme delivers a wide range of skills both inside and outside the classroom.

“Garden to Table is a hands-on and practical programme that provides an additional learning environment alongside the traditional school setting.

“It inspires children to grow vegetables at home, to learn about the environment and even career opportunities,” Bell says. “It helps improve language skills, problem solving and maths, practical skills they can and do take home to the family.”
