Mt Buller is gearing up for another fantastic summer with a jam-packed events calendar and activities to suit all ages and interests, along with new improvements across the resort that will benefit the overall visitor experience.

A number of fantastic events will be held at Mt Buller throughout the summer, from world-class mountain bike competitions and trail running events to food and wine festivals and Easter celebrations. The event calendar kicked off with the Targa High Country tarmac rally, which took place on November 6-8. The extensive list of events continues right through until the end of April, with highlights including the second Australian Mountain Bike Summit, the GT Bike Buller Festival, the Picnic in the Park food and wine festival, and the Mountain High Fun Run and Australian Mountain Running Championships rounding out the summer season.

Mt Buller offers a range of ways for visitors to experience the alpine environment, with plentiful activities from scenic walks and peaceful picnics on the summit to trail running and mountain biking adventures. This summer visitors can escape the hustle and bustle of the city; swap bitumen for dirt, and enjoy a cool climate, along with stunning views, varied terrain and a range of trails and adventures suited to all levels.

Mt Buller’s world-class mountain bike trails have received a boost ahead of the official season opening on 5 December, with the dedicated Mt Buller Trail Crew conducting seasonal maintenance across the vast network of trails, putting them in tip top shape in time for visitors to enjoy.

Several improvements have been made for this summer to make the visitor experience even better. New for this summer is the Roam Mt Buller 3D interactive MTB trail map app. The app shows mountain bike trails on a 3D map with the rider’s exact location displayed on the map, so they can easily navigate their way through the trail network. Map data is stored offline, which enables visitors to use the map even when they’re out of range.

Mt Buller has also put in place an award-winning emergency management improvement on the mountain bike trails. Resort Management, in conjunction with the Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority (ESTA) have developed emergency markers across the trail network, designed to pinpoint a 000 caller’s exact location during an emergency. In case of an emergency, visitors quote the number on the nearest marker to the 000 operator.

A range of specialist mountain bike camps and skills clinics will be held throughout summer, with the teams from Gravity OZ and MTBSkills back in the resort for another season. Clinics include a dedicated woman’s weekend, MTB retreats, a back country camp, along with private coaching on offer.
