This February, three of the world‘s top songwriters touch down in Auckland to collaborate with some of our most promising musical talent.

Co-writers, producers and collaborators are the secret weapons of top selling artists - from Madonna to Adele to David Guetta. SongHubs Auckland brings this experience to New Zealand, with platinum-selling and Grammy Award winning writers Mozella, Sacha Skarbek and Lindy Robbins travelling from the UK and US for an intensive five day song-writing workshop at Auckland’s Roundhead Studios.

MoZella co-wrote the Miley Cyrus No.1 hit song, ‘Wrecking Ball’ with Sacha Skarbek, as well as co-writing Madonna’s album, Rebel Heart. She has also collaborated with Rihanna, One Direction, Kelly Clarkson and Ellie Goulding.

Sacha Skarbek played a key role in developing James Blunt’s career and co-wrote the worldwide No.1 hit ‘You’re Beautiful’. Other collaborations include Adele, Gwen Stefani, Seal, Neneh Cherry, Lana del Rey and the Backstreet Boys.

Lindy Robbins co-wrote David Guetta’s hit single featuring Sam Smith ‘Dangerous’. Robbins has also written for Jason Derulo, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and 5 Seconds of Summer.

“Having this calibre of international artists come together to share their talent, knowledge and experience with our songwriters is totally unprecedented in New Zealand, and a huge opportunity for our writers.” says APRA’s Manager of NZ Member Services Victoria Kelly.  “We’re incredibly excited about the music that will come from these collaborations, the seeds that will be sown for our artists, the relationships they’ll build, and the fact that it’s all happening here in Auckland.”

SongHubs is an APRA AMCOS initiative, supported by the Federal Government of Australia. In addition to APRA AMCOS, SongHubs Auckland has been made possible with the support of
NZ On Air, Auckland Council, Recorded Music NZ and the New Zealand Music Commission.

SongHubs Auckland takes place at Roundhead Studios from 22nd – 26th February 2016. Participants have been selected by SongHubs Auckland curator Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Catatonia, Pluto, The Feelers) and will be announced next week.
