With fourteen celebrity chefs demonstrations and over 100 exhibitors across three days, there is a lot to see and do at the Wellington Food Show. We’ve broken it down to 5 bite-sized pieces of the must-see attractions at this year’s show.

1. KEEPING IT LOCAL
From award winning coffee and hand-blended organic tea to authentic porc pate and one of the smallest wine producers in the country, Wellington’s local producers are the drawcards for foodies looking for what’s good in their hood. Bosley’s Pantry, Terroir Wines, Kapiti Coffee House, Pascal’s Pate, Ritual Tea join a raft of other locals flying the yellow and black flag in Westpac Stadium.

2. THE ROBERT AND CINDY SHOW
If you were to only see one thing at the Food Show, Robert Oliver and Cindy the Samoan in the Whirlpool Cooking Theatre should be it. The former My Kitchen Rules judge and his fa’afafine singing sidekick demonstrate fresh pacifica salmon and mango recipes which are second only to their infectious sense of humour. They have the crowd in stitches.

3. MORE GENEROUS THAN ANY OTHER REGION – BRING A CAN FOR CM
All three Food Shows align with the City Mission this year. Christchurch were generous both in food and cash donations. Wellington’s growing reputation for helping those less fortunate should see Wellington be the most generous of the three region. The City Mission will be collecting non-perishables at the show, so make way for a delicious new product or two in the pantry by bringing along a can or three.

4. STREET FOOD AT THE FOOD SHOW
House of Dumplings, Good George, Pineapple Bakery, Sawadee Food Truck  and Tom’s Chimney Cakes & Langosh will be lining up to sustain the punters across the three days. Aside from the many delicious samples on offer from exhibitors, Wellingtons favourite pop up street food trucks will be set to fill rumbling bellies, and encourage a rest for tired feet. A couple of Pineapple’s pork buns, washed down with a Good George IPA and a heavenly sweet Hungarian Chimney cake might just be the perfect combo!

5. MOTHERS DAY SORTED – GET MUM A DOUBLE PASS TO THE FOOD SHOW
What better way to say thanks Mum than with tickets to the Wellington Food Show. She can delight in the tasty samples, learn a new trick or two from the cooking demos and just by walking through the stadium doors, goes in the draw to win a Nelson escape.

Tickets are on sale now, book early online at www.foodshow.co.nz and get the best rates. Access to all show features and cooking demos is included in your ticket.
