Ruapehu Alpine Lifts
Young skiers and boarders are invited to show off their skills at the 16th annual Mt Ruapehu Giro Mini X Games these school holidays. The two day event will take place at Whakapapa Ski Area from 19 - 20 July, 2016 and will feature a Skier and Boarder X and Mini Big Air.
This fun, free event for children aged 5 – 12 years is open to everyone and is ideal for kids new to competition events on the snow. There will be a barbecue, entertainment and loads of great prizes to be won, so grab the family and join us for a great day on the snow. Further event information available at MtRuapehu.com. What: Mt Ruapehu Giro Mini X Games
Day one: Skier X and Boarder X
Skier and Boarder X racing is for anyone who can stop and turn. Four competitors race down a course of little bumps and waves of snow in a time trial format, followed by a knock-out tournament.
Day two: Mini Big Air
Children can have as many goes as possible on a purpose built jump. Children are judged on their height, distance, style and tricks.
Competitors will race within their age group (5 – 8 years and 9 – 12 years) across each discipline.
When: Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 July, 2016 (contingency dates: Thursday 21 and Friday 22 July, 2016)

- Event runs from 1 – 3pm
- Prizegiving from 4 – 5pm (each day)
