Recorded in Los Angeles, where they have lived for the past three years, it is a self-produced return to the sound of their striking debut Passive Me Aggressive You with singles ‘Higher’ and ‘The Runners’ echoing the euphoric hits ‘Young Blood’ and ‘Punching in A Dream’.

Thom Powers told US publication Be-Street “This is a very vocal album and it is back to being quite bright. There aren’t many long instrumental passages. It’s more vocally oriented and the songs are carved around that core emotional message to the listener and being done with it”

That core emotional message sees many songs that might be interpreted as relating to the break-up between the band’s two vocalists, Powers and Alisa Xayalith.

But as Xayalith points out in the same interview, “If you persevere with love and determination, you’re going to come through a really dark time and feel very proud of yourself because you triumph over the situation. You grew and you became a stronger person because of it and I think that’s beautiful.”

The Naked And Famous embark on a mammoth two-month tour of North America to start their Simple Forms live campaign. A European tour for 2017 is also announced and the band promise news of shows Downunder for next year soon.

The US has proved extremely fruitful for the group with ‘Young Blood’ now a certified Platinum million seller there and their recent showing at Austin City Limits drawing mammoth crowds and rave reviews.

As Austin 360 said in picking The Naked and Famous as a must-see act in weekend two of the festival, They’ve made their nude, distinguished name by creating soaring songs stacked with anthemic hooks. When you’re immersed in an hour of their music, you truly feel like you're in a fantasy film. Perhaps, oh riding a luck dragon through the skies of Fantasia. Their Weekend One set made us believe in magic.
