Ryan Adams’ Prisoner was released February 17, debuting #3 on the U.S. album chart, #1 on the Billboard Rock Albums chart, and generating wave after wave of the most effusive critical praise of Adams' career. NEW YORK MAGAZINE ("Genius...the best thing he's put out in a decade"), ROLLING STONE ("Personal and urgent...close to the magnum opus of his dreams"), ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY ("the poet laureate of unadulterated heartbreak, a master chronicler of the endless shapes and colors of romantic pain") and the ASSOCIATED PRESS hailed Prisoner as the multiple Grammy nominee's best in 10 years or more, while PEOPLE noted "even when his lyrics cling to loss, Adams lets in light with melody," and The AV CLUB observed "He sounds like he's savoring how full of life his music is, no matter what it took to make it so. He hasn't just turned misery into art; he's turned it into joy."

Ryan Adams is currently in the midst of the Prisoner world tour, which swings through New York next week, beginning with a May 1 stop at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert followed by back to back sold out shows at the Beacon Theater May 2 and 3. The tour circles the globe through late September and sees Ryan headlining the likes of the Greek Theaters in Los Angeles and Berkeley, Red Rocks, an already sold out September date at the Royal Albert Hall and more. Ryan has also been making the festival rounds including Lollapalooza and Shaky Knees, while adding multiple headline shows due to popular demand from St.
