The Asics Kepler Challenge organising committee is very pleased to announce the Department of Conservation has allowed them to increase concession numbers from 400 to 450 runners in the Asics Kepler Challenge on 3 December 2011

The 60km mountain race is run on the Kepler Track, between Lakes Te Anau and Manapouri.

The increase in competitor numbers is in response to the consistently high demand for entry into the event over recent years, internationally and from within New Zealand.

Competitors are able to enter online www.keplerchallenge.co.nz at 6.30am on Saturday 2 July.

CHARITY RUNNERS

Following the inception of the Charity Challenge three years ago, for a fee of $1000 each, ten charity runners were accepted each year, with all the money donated to worthy local organisations.

Due to the increased number of competitors this year, and the high interest from prospective charity runners, fifteen charity runners have secured a place in this year’s Asics Kepler Challenge.

Steve Norris, chairman of the Asics Kepler Challenge organising committee, is pleased to announce the $15000 raised through the Charity Challenge this year, will be donated to the Te Anau Scout Troop to go towards the building fund for the new scout den.
