Auckland fashion house Stitch Ministry and Mazda have created the ultimate set of wheels for the fashion connoisseur – and the one-of-a-kind vehicle is set to be auctioned for charity.

Stitch Ministry design director Kylee Davis has adorned the roof of the Mazda 2 with black and grey stripes offset by subtle stitching visuals working their way up the doors. Inside the car, a state of the art sound system has been fitted together with customized car seat covers, adding a touch of designer elegance to the interior.

The Mazda Foundation donated the Mazda 2 to make the project possible and the completed work is being auctioned on November 15 at the Raukatauri Music Therapy annual auction. All proceeds from the sale go toward the worthy cause.

“This is a dream project for both Mazda and Stitch Ministry. Knowing the proceeds are going toward such an amazing charity makes all the hard work worthwhile,” says Kylee Davis.

“Stitch Ministry designs are both sophisticated and understated and it was imperative the overall look of the Mazda remained true to these qualities. Black and grey colours combine to deliver stripes that deliver a look of chic sophistication, qualities true to our brand aesthetic, ’’ says Davis.

Set up in 2004 the Raukatauri Music Therapy Centre is a non-profit charitable trust that provides music therapy for special needs children, encouraging them to develop and learn through music. The centre currently has two full time, qualified music therapists and two part time music therapists working in Outreach programmes in schools.
