Perry Group have partnered with PureBlack Racing as a Foundation Partner over the next five years to invest in developing, and promoting, New Zealand cycle racing on the global stage.

This partnership will also enable PureBlack Racing to relocate their headquarters to the Waikato and be based at Avantidrome, The Home of Cycling, from 2013. The Home of Cycling, New Zealand’s National Cycling Centre of Excellence, is due to be opened in late 2013 and will be a world class velodrome providing high level facilities and a unique environment for all levels of cycling.

Home of Cycling Chief Executive Geoff Balme says, “PureBlack Racing relocating to the Avantidrome is further evidence of the importance of the National Cycling Centre of Excellence to New Zealand cycling and also recognition of the cycling talent in the Waikato.”

Perry Group is one of the most successful privately owned enterprises in the Waikato region, and has a strong brand presence in the Waikato region where it has operated for over 50 years. The company has always supported a wide range of community driven projects and is a founding partner in the Home of Cycling project.

“Becoming a Foundation Partner of PureBlack Racing is an exciting opportunity for the Perry Group to support young New Zealand cycling talent and to promote the sport of cycling across all levels of participation. We are proud to be partnering with a company like PureBlack Racing who has established a respected and recognised brand in the cycling community. Being based at the Home of Cycling will give PureBlack Racing access to world class facilities and help them build and develop a successful international cycle team,” said Simon Perry, Chairman of Perry Group.

Along with PureBlack Racing, BikeNZ will also be based at the Home of Cycling bringing its grassroots, community and high performance programmes to the centre. Home of Cycling will offer a wide range of programmes and promote health, fitness and physical wellbeing through all forms of cycling.

“It is fantastic to be welcoming Perry Group on board with PureBlack Racing. They are a key player in the development of New Zealand cycling, with their ongoing involvement in the development of the Home of Cycling and the Avantidrome. Through this sponsorship PureBlack Racing takes another step towards a partnership that involves all of the amazing brands in New Zealand cycling alongside Avanti and BikeNZ,” said PureBlack Racing Business Director, Greg Cross.
