Travel HQ is a new travel agency that specializes in group bookings for
schools and sports groups.  They can also assist with fundraising and
sponsorship which allows groups to travel for free.  Arranging the trip
and removing funding hassles means a lot less stress, a smoothly run event
and more time for players to spend in their sport.

Travel HQ was set up to cater specifically for the travel needs of sports
groups and schools.  The director, Kevin Lamb, has been in the travel
industry a long time, recently selling the Pegasus Rental Cars brand after
23 years.  During that time he saw how many schools and clubs struggled to
raise money for their sports trips.   He also noticed a gap in the market
for travel agencies that work solely with groups.  An association with
Riki Enosa of Global Sport Trust meant Kevin could not only provide travel
bookings but help with the fundraising process as well.  Riki has over 18
years experience in fundraising and sponsorship and has played Touch and
Rugby League for NZ.  He understands first hand the needs of sports teams
and is very keen to help younger players in sport as they will be our NZ
representatives in future years.

Travel HQ is based in Nelson and offers a free service for groups anywhere
in New Zealand, booking all their travel needs including accommodation,
transport and flights.  Global Sport Trust offers a free fundraising and
sponsorship programme to Travel HQ’s clients, including schools, clubs,
associations and all non profit organizations.  Global Sport Trust has
assisted hundreds of organizations with fundraising advice which has
helped those organizations raise several million dollars.

Global Sport Trust and Travel HQ are currently working with NZ
Universities.  Global Sport Trust gave the Auckland University Students
Association (AUSA) advice on their fundraising which enabled them to
access funding to attend the 2012 University Games in Wellington.   Their
travel requirements were handled by Travel HQ.  Hannah Newman, Sports
Co-ordinator for Auckland University, found it a real time saver working
with Travel HQ:  ‘it was really good working with you which saved me a lot
of time sorting out flights, accommodation and transport so thanks!’   And
to top it all off, Auckland University won the Uni Games shield for the
second year running!
