As a result of a major network upgrade, Air Tahiti Nui has streamlined the journey from Auckland to Paris with new connections via Tahiti and Los Angeles.

From April, three weekly flights will depart Auckland mid-afternoon and arrive in Paris early the next evening with additional flights operating between Tahiti and Los Angeles providing a plethora of stopover options.

As the only carrier connecting New Zealand with mainland Europe via North America, Air Tahiti Nui General Manager New Zealand Mark Hutchinson said he hoped the new schedule would make the airline’s unique route to Europe more appealing.

“With several of the world’s most visited attractions like the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, Paris is an immensely popular destination for Kiwis, so we’re thrilled to be offering a smoother journey to this desirable European gateway,” Mr Hutchinson said.

“These changes will also allow our Kiwi guests to stretch their legs on Rodeo Drive or Manhattan Beach en route to Paris, take timeout in Tahiti to unwind, or transit straight through from Paris to New Zealand.”

Air Tahiti Nui offers onward travel to 15 French destinations including Bordeaux, Marseille and Lyon through a code share agreement with France’s high speed national train network.

The new schedule, which begins in April, 2014, has been loaded into Air Tahiti Nui’s booking system.

For travel to Los Angeles or Paris, baggage can be through checked from Auckland.

Air Tahiti Nui is enhancing its fleet of Airbus A340-300 aircraft with a complete cabin reconfiguration including more comfortable seats and a new in-flight entertainment system.
