A fabulous scarf has the ability to change an outfit like very few other accessories, something founder of high-end scarf design house Mad About Hue (MAH), Ondina Montgomery knows a thing or two about.
The Singapore based interior designer is launching her scientifically inspired fashion label MAH to New Zealand accessory lovers with a range of limited edition scarves and headbands. The scarves, from her aptly named collection The Quaintrelle, are inspired by the crystal art works of world-renowned Academy and Emmy award winning wildlife cinematographer Dr. Jim Frazier. Featuring artistic interpretations from lush flowers to arctic wilderness, the scarves each have fittingly beautiful names such as Wild Dance Cyan and Make a Wish Sky. A unique and much sought after brand internationally, MAH’s scarf collections are handcrafted from the highest quality silks and offer limited runs of only 50 pieces per design. Committed to exclusivity through limited numbers, MAH pieces are considered collectable items as well as a high-end fashion statement.
Adding to the collection of headwear, MAH is also releasing a range of limited edition, handcrafted headbands. The result of a creative collaboration with UK based designer Josie Chen, each fashion-forward headband is also a piece of unique, wearable art.
Simultaneously to MAH’s NZ launch, the brand is embarking on a creative partnership in Singapore with the Museum of Art and Science at the Marina Bay Sands to debut the 2014 Collection Sound of Ikebana. Created by renowned Japanese media artist Ms Naoko Tosa, the collection translates expressions of Japanese colour tradition and culture through digital technology.
