Choice Hotels Australasia has officially launched its new grassroots travel programme, Choice Sports, in New Zealand.

Choice Sports is a new initiative developed by Choice Hotels that will invest money back into local community sport and assist Kiwi sports organisations of all sizes and at all levels to raise much-needed funds for their clubs.

By registering for Choice Sports, sporting clubs across New Zealand will receive a 15% discount off the best available rate when booking accommodation at any Choice hotel in New Zealand and Australia. In addition, for each booking made, a 7% rebate will be paid back to the registered club, providing an extra source of revenue for organisations. Clubs can also take advantage of the programme when staying at any of Choice Hotels’ 6,000 properties across the globe.

This exciting new travel programme will also provide sporting clubs with discounted rates when making group accommodation bookings for team travel. Additionally, Choice Sports provides the same 15% discount to club officials, family members, and supporters travelling to watch their relatives and friends compete.

Choice Hotels has been a proud supporter of New Zealand sport as a sponsor of both TRI NZ and its NZ Tri Series and the NZ Cricket Players Association.

Aileen Cobern, Choice Hotels’ general manager sales and marketing says the Choice Sports programme was developed so Choice Hotels could offer support to every sporting organisation across New Zealand.

“We’re proud to support New Zealand’s network of sporting clubs through Choice Sports,” says Cobern. “With 35 New Zealand Choice hotels to choose from and over 230 across Australia, we hope this new incentive will help ease the financial burden on clubs, allowing them to travel more and gather extra funds to develop their respective sporting codes.”

Just by staying at a Choice Hotel; Econo Lodge, Comfort, Quality, Clarion or Ascend Hotel Collection, club members and supporters will be raising money for their sport.

The Choice Sports travel programme can be used for a range of travel needs including; overnight away games, end of season trips, members’ travel or holidays by administrators, officials, supporters and families.
Sporting clubs and associations can become part of the Choice Sports programme, via an online application form at http://sports.choicehotels.co.nz.
Choice Hotels recently launched the Choice Sports programme in Australia. To date there has been a strong uptake with multiple clubs and organisations already signed up and enjoying the rewards.
