Leading health and fitness club, Habit, has again been recognised by the industry with multiple successes in the annual NZ Fitness Industry Awards. Its Wellington Habit Platinum was named New Zealand’s top facility.

The Johnston Street centre won the title of top Fitness Centre of the Year club for under 500 members for the second year in a row, with Habit Evans Bay coming in second closely behind.

Habit Vero in Auckland also placed runner up of five finalists in the category for best facility with over 500-1500 members as well as Habit Evans Bay securing second place in the ‘Innovation’ category. Habit’s clubs were the only health and fitness centres in Wellington to reach the finals.

Habit owners Steve Pugh and Ben Teusse are very pleased with the company’s success at the awards and congratulate their staff for their outstanding performance.

“We are delighted to receive this award again and it wouldn’t have been possible without such a great team behind the company.”

“Habit is committed to providing the best customer service and being recognised through these awards is great for us as a company in a very competitive industry,” said Steve.

The judging panel for the 2013 awards commented highly on Habit’s 2013 entry, “Last year Habit Platinum won this category with their combination of premium service and premium facility. This year they win again, with a continuation of those winning qualities and investment in new developments to continue to raise the bar on award level club operations.”

The health and fitness industry is becoming increasingly popular and more and more people are looking at different alternatives to satisfy their health and fitness needs. Steve believes that Habit’s success stems from the range of services the club provides and the highly qualified staff and brilliant club atmosphere.

“Habit offers a wide range of services, from headache clinics through to personal training, and we see that as our advantage. Members can benefit from a number of different services in a single visit rather than having to be part of multiple clubs.

“At Habit, we’re not just a gym, we’re a health, fitness and rehabilitation centre.”

The Fitness Industry Awards have been running since 2005, and are designed to recognise those making a contribution to the health and wellness of New Zealanders through exercise and fitness. The awards ceremony is an annual event, and has had prestigious guest speakers including MPs and Ministers Hon John Key, Hon Rodney Hide, Hon Murray McCully and Sue Kedgeley.

Habit is one of New Zealand’s leading health, fitness and rehabilitation clubs that operates at the top end of the industry. With clubs in Wellington and Auckland, Habit offers a range of premium services to their members including physiotherapy, headache clinics and fitness classes.
