New Zealand Olympic Winter Team Profile - Janina Kuzma.

Meet the women of the New Zealand Olympic Winter Team who will be competing in Sochi, Russia from 7 – 23 February 2014. These eight ladies are part of a fifteen strong team and will represent New Zealand in the adrenaline-filled sports of freeski, snowboard and skeleton.

Our first profile is freeskier, Janina Kuzma.

Discipline: Freeski halfpipe
About: Janina is one the greatest professional big mountain female skiers of all time. In 2011 she finished third overall at the prestigious Verbier Extremes in Switzerland which is the finals of the Freeride World Tour.

Janina has won the NZ Freeski Open Big Mountain event six times. She is a two-time Canadian Freeski Champion and two-time World Heli Challenge Champion. In 2012 Janina made the big call to transfer her ski skills into halfpipe and follow her dream to become an Olympian. Her hard work paid off and Janina was named to the 2014 Olympic Winter Team to Sochi. She is currently ranked 15th in the world for freeski halfpipe.
