Meet the women of the New Zealand Olympic Winter Team who will be competing in Sochi, Russia from 7 – 23 February 2014. These eight ladies are part of a fifteen strong team and will represent New Zealand in the adrenaline-filled sports of freeski, snowboard and skeleton. Today we feature Shelly Gotlieb.

Discipline: Snowboard Slopestyle
About: Shelly is one of New Zealand’s most respected riders. She’s definitely not one to blow her own trumpet but she has achieved an impressive list of results at some of the world’s most prestigious events including the X Games, US Open, and World Snowboarding Championships.
In 2010 she became the first New Zealander ever to be invited to the slopestyle discipline at the X Games and in 2011 she won a bronze medal at the FIS Snowboarding World Championships in slopestyle. Shelly is currently ranked 19th in the world for women’s snowboard slopestyle.
