The Stoneleigh ‘Wonder of Nature’ urban oasis opens today at Queens Wharf for nine days.

A unique suspended garden will create an inner city and multi-sensory escape for visitors from Friday 28 February to Saturday 8 March 2014.

Award winning New Zealand landscape designer, Jules Moore, has designed an original hanging garden for the Stoneleigh hosted experience at the waterfront site.

Paul McLaney, acclaimed musician and acoustic artist, has captured sounds of nature from the Stoneleigh vineyards in Marlborough and with them has composed a never before heard soundscape which is played for all to hear at the experience.

Stoneleigh winemaker, Jamie Marfell, invites visitors to extend summer by enjoying a glass of Stoneleigh wine with friends in this urban oasis.

“Stoneleigh ‘Wonder of Nature’ is a multi-sensory experience – from the suspended garden, the original soundscape from the vineyards, to the wines themselves and the wondrous backdrop. What a perfect place to celebrate both the start of harvest in Marlborough and New Zealand’s unsurpassed wonders of nature,” says Marfell.

“Stoneleigh wines are created by a small wonder of nature; the stones in our vineyard retain the heat from the sun and spend their nights warming the vines creating our vibrant wines,” he says.

Stoneleigh has also launched their new Stoneleigh ‘Small Wonder of Nature’ app that enables the user to capture their own small wonder of nature, and then customise their photos to upload onto the online gallery. All photos will be in to win a Stoneleigh Marlborough experience.
