For many women, finding an extra ten minutes in the morning to give attention to your make-up is just as likely as winning the lottery.

In between showering, picking out an outfit, having breakfast, downing an extra strong coffee, straightening your hair and brushing your teeth – finding time to apply make-up just sometimes doesn’t happen.

Celebrity make-up artist Samala Robinson has some top tips on how to put your best face forward and look fabulous both day and night even if time doesn’t seem to be on your side.

“If you are running late for work, less is often better,” she says. “Just use a dash of concealer where necessary, a quick powder to even out the skin tone and then add a bit of colour with a sweep of bronzer and mascara. Only apply the mascara to the top lashes as this saves time and the top-heavy look is still hot.”

If you have a hot date after work but have been kept late writing reports, Samala says it is simple to dress this look up.

“I like to keep the focus on the eyes and glam them up by going for a gorgeous intense bronzed look. I give the shadow depth by putting down a brown or black pencil base on the eye first and lastly I like to add another layer of mascara.”

Samala says whatever you do, do not add another layer of foundation over the top of what you’ve been wearing all day. “Instead dust the face with powder to get rid of excess oil built up throughout the day. Make sure you add a little more cheek colour as your cheeks can get lost in the more forgiving night lights.”

Samala says that no matter how little time you have, it’s imperative that you moisturise because it forms the basis of any look.

“It is a common misconception that you need to spend hundreds of dollars on a moisturiser that works,” she says. “Olay’s new Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is the perfect affordable anti-ageing cream out there for all women - it’s proven to outperform even the world’s most expensive creams even the $350 one!

“It hydrates the skin and targets the three hardest to treat areas; the eyes, jaw line and the neck,” says Samala. “It also helps to visibly firm the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles which is why it’s my new must-have beauty item – and it’s only $49.99!”

Getting ready in a jiffy doesn’t mean you have to compromise looking great. With Samala’s handy tips of the trade, you can step out looking fabulous and still get an extra five minutes sleep in the morning!
