Sunday 5th December will see the return of the Tinman Triathlon. Event owners, Sport Bay of Plenty are delighted to announce that Craigs Investment Partners are back for a second year as principal sponsors as the historic event continues to show growth in its 22nd year.

Craigs Investment Partners, the investment advisory and management company with its head office in Tauranga, is one of the largest independent investment companies in New Zealand.

“We are thrilled to have the company back on board for a second year. They continue to be great supporters of sport in Bay of Plenty and further afield,” said Wayne Werder, CEO of Sport Bay of Plenty.

The Tinman has always been one of the traditional opening events of the national triathlon season.

The event, which incorporates a standard distance (1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run) and sprint distance (750m swim, 20km bike, 5.5km run), is open to individuals and teams. The choices available makes it ideal for those experienced triathletes looking to warm up before the big races of the season like the Port of Tauranga Half (the Tinman shares the same course) or for those who are looking to get their toes wet and get involved in the sport for the first time. The teams category creates the opportunity for those who may have more experience in a single discipline to get involved with the sport.

Craigs Investment Partners are again supporting The Craigs Corporate Challenge. The teams challenge takes place over the Sprint Distance with teams of three taking on one discipline each. The initiative is a great way to get companies active and involved in the sport while also injecting some friendly inter-company rivalry.

"We look forward to having more local businesses step up and enter a team as well as getting along a strong support crew" says Hamish Coleman, Tauranga Branch Manager .
“As a company we see the benefits of staff been active, involved in sport and team challenges. We will be issuing the challenge to other companies in the region and around the country to get involved and enjoy the atmosphere of the Tinman and the hospitality of the Bay of Plenty”

Entries are available online until 30th November. There will be no entries taken on the day however limited entries may be taken on Saturday 4th December at registration.
