Registrations now open for the Konica Minolta Nelson Cycle Festival

The organisers of the Nelson Cycle Festival are pleased to announce Konica Minolta Business Solutions NZ Ltd as the Gold Sponsor for the inaugural cycling event to be held in October. Gavin Mines, Nelson Branch Manager for Konica Minolta says We are very excited to be a part of this Cycle Festival and look forward to supporting both the event and our local community. Konica Minolta has a proud sporting culture and sees our involvement in this festival as part of our ongoing heritage. Sponsorship co-ordinator Lea Boodee, from onCue, is delighted with support shown for the event by the Nelson business community, with MoreFM, the Nelson Mail, Tineli Performance Bikewear and Avanti & Scott Cycles making up the list of Silver sponsors. The backing of the Nelson City Council and Its On Nelson has also been invaluable to get the event off the ground in its first year. Excitement is building in Nelson as the city looks forward to welcoming riders from all over New Zealand. Local cyclists are preparing to share some of their favourite tracks, circuits and courses with visitors to the region for what is promising to be an exciting week of cycling. The Konica Minolta Nelson Cycle Festival will open on the evening of Friday 8th October with the AvantiPlus Nelson City Criterium, followed by a series of road races and Mountain Bike races, concluding with the famous Mammoth MTB 50km race on Sunday 17th Oct. There will also be a series of social coffee rides, starting with the Gentle Cycling Co. Country Vineyard ride on the 9th Oct. So there really is something for everyone who enjoys cycling at any level.
