When it comes to nuts, what’s not to love? They’re nutritious, delicious and thanks to Mother Earth, they are now also available in a new blend, Deluxe Mix Low GI, creating the ultimate, powerful snack.

The new Mother Earth Deluxe Mix Low GI is a delicious mix of freshly batch roasted cashews, almonds and hazelnuts combined with dried apricots and dark chocolate.

It’s widely known there are many good reasons to eat nuts, but one that won’t be so evident is their low glycaemic index (GI).

“The low glycaemic index means carbohydrates are digested more slowly, resulting in more stable blood glucose levels,” says New Zealand Nutrition Foundation dietician, Sarah Hanrahan.

“Adding nuts to carb-rich foods slows the absorption of carbohydrate, giving a more sustained energy release. That’s what makes you feel fuller for longer,” adds Hanrahan.

Mother Earth Senior Brand Manager, Lyn O’Sullivan says, “People love our nutty snacks and our new Deluxe Mix Low GI is great for anyone looking for an energy boost without a big sugar spike.”

“Thanks to the wonderful combination of good nutrients, Deluxe Mix Low GI is the perfect snack to carry you through the afternoon slump,” adds O’Sullivan.

The new Mother Earth Deluxe Mix Low GI has a GI value of 11 as tested by the Department of Nutrition at the University of Otago. For the glycaemic index of a product to be considered low, the value must be less than 55.

Keeping Mother Earth Deluxe Mix Low GI on hand in the pantry, at work or in the car makes this delicious mix a convenient snack option. It’s also an easy way to include a healthy handful of nuts in your daily diet.

Mother Earth’s Deluxe Mix Low GI will join the range in the snacks aisle of supermarkets nationwide for an RRP of $5.49.
