The NZ US Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Leon Grice to the position of Chair.

Mr. Grice takes the Chair from the Hon. Simon Power QSO who has stepped down from the role after a two-year term.

Mr. Grice, who joins the Council in his private capacity, has a strong mix of private and public sector experience and extensive contacts in the USA.  He was formerly Director of the New Zealand 2011 Office which oversaw the 2011 Rugby World Cup programme and has held leadership roles in the private sector including as Director of Twenty4Media, and founding director of Busby Ramshaw Grice.
He currently serves as New Zealand Consul-General in Los Angeles and will be returning to New Zealand in 2017.

“I am excited to carry on the great work of Simon Power as chair to strengthen New Zealand’s relationship with the USA.  I thank him for his leadership,” said Mr. Grice.

“The Council has an important history in US-New Zealand relations and in recent years that relationship has gone from strength to strength.

“I am keen for the Council to empower business leaders and business communities in both countries to become more involved with practical and pragmatic policies that advance shared prosperity and the interests of our economies.

“The imminent inauguration of the Trump Administration creates opportunities for new ideas, new policies and new bilateral trade strategies and the challenge for the Council is to be at the forefront of that agenda.”
