Michael Kilm Backs 2013 Queensland Ocean Swim Series

The Queensland Ocean Swim Series this week received an early boost ahead of its January
launch with Australian Olympic legend Michael Klim confirmed as the Official 2013 Series
Ambassador.

Klim is one of Australia's most successful swimmers of all time. He is a world champion, a world

record holder and a three-time Olympian with medals from all three Olympic Games, including
two gold medals.

Michael Klim is also the founder of skincare company Milk & Co, Principal Partner of the 2013
Queensland Ocean Swim Series.

"The Milk & Co Queensland Ocean Swim Series is a chance for swimmers of all abilities, young
and old, to step out of the pool and take up a new challenge” said Klim.

“At Milk & Co, we’re all about doing something today that your body will thank you for
tomorrow, and I can’t wait to join Queenslanders on the start line and dive into action”.

In 2013, with the support of Events Queensland, the Series is expanding to visit four popular
Queensland coastal locations, Coolangatta, Caloundra, Tangalooma and, new for 2013,
Mooloolaba.

Announcing the new partnership, Weekend Warrior Events Director, John Guise, expressed his
excitement to have both Michael Klim and Milk & Co behind the 2013 Series.

“Michael is a true legend of Australian swimming and we’re delighted to have him on board as
our 2013 ambassador” said Guise.

“Ocean swimming continues to grow in popularity and our new partnership with Michael and
Milk & Co will encourage more Queenslanders to make the transition from pool to surf”.

The Series features a range of course options, including free kids’ short courses, and kicks off
at Mooloolaba on Sunday February 17 with the Mooloolaba Mile. Other event dates include
Caloundra on March 10, Coolangatta on April 07 and Tangalooma on April 20 & 21.
