The weather in cooler months can wreak havoc on skin leaving it feeling tight and itchy. Cold wind, dry air, and indoor heating deplete skin of the essential moisture needed to look and feel its best.

“Low ambient humidity, air conditioning and heating at home or in the office, hot showers, and drinking less water all lead to our skin suffering from dryness,” says Dermatologist, Dr Ann-Maree Kurzydlo.

But Cetaphil combats dry winter skin with their selection of moisturising creams that have been shown to provide significantly more moisturisation after a single application than other moisturisers.

Cetaphil’s Daily Advance Hydrating Lotion, Moisturising Cream, and Intensive Moisturising Cream are top choices to beat winter skin woes with accolades from Dermatologists and beauty lovers alike for their superior performance and value for money.

Cetaphil® Daily Advance Hydrating Lotion
This luxurious everyday lotion contains Shea Butter and Macadamia Nut Oil, and provides intense moisturisation for dry and very dry skin. Hydrates and protects dry skin for 24 hours.
Available in 85ml – RRP $9.95, 226ml – RRP $14.95, 473ml – RRP $25.99.

Cetaphil® Moisturising Cream
Formulated to moisturise and protect dry, sensitive skin this Moisturising Cream contains emollients and humectants that bind water to the skin and prevent moisture loss. Sweet Almond Oil is rich in vitamin A, B and E, which are great for skin health. The oil helps maintaining moisture levels of the skin and gets absorbed without blocking the pores. Sweet Almond oil helps improve the complexion, soothes skin irritation and skin inflammation, relieves dry and irritated skin, as well as nourishes skin, making it softer and smoother. In clinical studies Cetaphil Moisturing Cream doubled the moisture of skin in just four days compared to untreated controls.
Available in 100ml – RRP $9.00, 250ml – RRP $13.75, 550ml – RRP $19.95.

Cetaphil® Intensive Moisturising Cream
Provides rapid and long lasting moisture for very dry, rough and cracked skin. Ideal for target areas that need intensive care like hands, elbows, feet and knees.
Available in 85ml – RRP $9.50.

Dr. Kurzydlo’s top tips for keeping skin supple and smooth, all year round:
  • Apply a moisturiser regularly and liberally such as Cetaphil’s Moisturising Cream. Moisturiser is best applied straight after a shower or bath and used all over the body. A heavier moisturiser is great in winter to combat dryness. Look for products containing “humectants” such as glycerine or sorbitol.
  • During the winter our skin tends to be drier due to low ambient humidity. Anti-aging products containing ingredients such as alpha-hydroxy acids or Retin-A / Retinols can worsen dryness. If this occurs, reducing the frequency of use will help. Also try to avoid products which are alcohol based, such as toners.
  • Common skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis are more prevalent during winter months because the skin is a little drier. Maintaining an overall healthy lifestyle contributes to the appearance of healthy skin.
  • Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and for overall health. You may not feel like drinking water when the weather is cold so a herbal tea is a great warming way to keep fluids up.

Recommended by dermatologists and fragrance free, Cetaphil is a product that the whole family can use, including skin that requires special care.
