Sports compression wear leader SKINS, today launched an evolutionary science into the compression market with an updated range that provides more effective evaporative cooling during exercise than if you were wearing nothing at all!

The scientific advancements in the re-launched popular A400 range, utilise ‘ADAPTIVE Dynamic Cooling’; an intelligent finishing technology developed by Swiss textile technology innovator, HeiQ.

ADAPTIVE by HeiQ acts like a ‘second skin’ to provide the wearer with dynamic cooling and moisture management properties which are directly triggered by body temperature. When it’s cool, the polymer treatment binds in moisture to keep the wearer feeling warm and dry, but when the temperature heats up, stored moisture is automatically released for evaporation, allowing the body to cool down.

Other improvements to the long-standing A400, which has served athletes and active devotees for the last 5 years, includes clever design enhancements to specific panels to improve comfort and fit. Flexible, flatter A-Seams have been strategically placed to reduce chafing and improve comfort for the active wearer whilst maintaining the garments strength and durability.

With aesthetics and safety also a consideration to the modern, active consumer, SKINS have now included premium reflective glass bead technology in the new A400 to introduce the stylish safety feature of 360 degree reflectivity. Sleek graphics and strategically placed logos mean the wearer is more visible in low light conditions. Proven 50+ UV protection adds a further layer of reassurance with excellent security against the harmful elements of the sun’s rays.

The full range of men’s, women’s and youth tights and tops is endorsed by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA). The new A400 is constructed from five different technical fabrics with the men’s long tights alone, made up of 24 individual panels that follow natural muscle lines so that SKINS’ unique Dynamic Gradient Compression is focused on exactly the right areas for maximum effect.

SKINS’ traditional yellow has been replaced with a modern metallic gold across the whole range, bringing the design bang on trend. Men’s, women’s and youth tights and compression tops are enhanced with stylised digitally printed graphics, but are also available in black for those who prefer a minimalist look. Some key men’s styles are also available in flesh tone and white.

ABOUT SKINS – A BRAND BORN OUT OF AMBITION

In 1996 a keen Aussie skier had a bold ambition – to develop a garment that would improve sports performance and aid recovery. Consulting with NASA scientists and other experts, it took five years of design, testing and finessing before the first pair of SKINS tights were launched in Australia in 2002.

Word spread fast that SKINS help you perform better and recover faster. Basically, they make you feel like a super hero – and look a bit like one too. Pro athletes were the first to get into them and before long amateur athletes joined the party.

The company has grown rapidly over the last decade, and continues to lead the innovation of the sports performance category it created, but our attitude has not changed a bit. SKINS’ mission is simple: to radically improve the world of sport, one pair of tights at a time. Let’s face it, when you’ve got a product that’s scientifically proven by numerous independent studies, you just say it how it is. No hype required.

Nowadays, SKINS’ global headquarters sit in Switzerland but our Aussie roots remain with a regional office in Sydney. Global growth has also seen regional offices open in the UK, USA, France, Germany and China and we have a distributor network that spans every major region around the globe.
