New Zealand’s first ever themed night party run is about to hit Auckland in March with 10,000 party goers expected to descend on Auckland Domain on Friday 27 March.

RUN THE NIGHT is a 5km party on the move, the likes of which have not been seen before on our shores, but are fast gaining a cult following overseas. This isn’t an ordinary run! It’s a combination of a run and a club experience all rolled into one.  The event has been created to give people the opportunity to try out a bit of running (and dancing) in a fun, non-competitive, safe environment without the added hassle that alcohol can bring.

This unique event, which is destined to create a massive following itself in New Zealand, is all about grabbing some friends and dancing or running your way around a themed 5km course that will be loaded with electrifying music and incredible lighting. There are over 100 concert quality speakers and thousands of lights which will transform the Domain into an incredible party venue.  Music is integral to the event with ticket holders given the opportunity to have input into the party playlist. The after-party will include a 90 min DJ set from NZ’s hottest indie R&B duo; Jupiter Project.

Over 16 different cities and countries around the world such as London, Hong Kong, Italy etc, and many parts of the United States run similar events that are incredibly popular with thousands of people taking part.

Event Director, Scott Rice who is the owner of Quantum Events is known for putting together the popular State NZ Ocean Swim Series, describes the new genre event as a ‘party on the move’.  When asked about the inspiration behind the event Rice says; “I saw something similar whilst overseas and thought that it would be a fantastic opportunity to create a Kiwi version. We all know running can be fun. But running at night around a course filled with music and every imaginable lighting effect under the stars is on a whole other level.  It’s going to be nothing like you’ve seen or participated in before.”

Run the Night is made for anything that’s colourful, glows, or flashes, so attendees are encouraged to dress to stand out on the night - the brighter the better!

Tickets are now on sale from www.runthenight.co.nz and start at $59.90
