NZ's sassiest madam announces her grand arrival in Auckland's Takapuna

Nestled in the heart of Takapuna, award winning Michelin star chef Josh Emett and business partner Fleur Caulton’s third collaboration, Madam Woo, will officially open her doors to the public on 17 July.

Madam Woo has been wowing guests in Queenstown since 2013, and now the sassy madam will entice Auckland’s food and drink enthusiasts with her take on authentic Malaysian Hawker food.

“I've had so many people come up to me asking if we were going to bring Madam Woo to Auckland. I love Takapuna and its community feel, making it the perfect place to introduce Aucklanders to Madam Woo,” says Josh Emett.

“We are excited to bring our unique brand of hospitality to Takapauna. Madam Woo is fast, fun and fresh and we think Takapuna is going to love it,” says Fleur Caulton.

Inspired by the authentic hawker street food, the Madam Woo menu draws from the melting pot of cultures and cuisines that make up Malaysia. The dishes are full of big flavours that are vibrant, fresh and delicious, many of the recipes having been handed down through generations and generously shared by the chefs to become part of the Madam Woo story.

Designed to appeal equally to patrons who crave a quick, fresh and healthy bite or those who want to indulge in a decadent banquet with friends, diners can look forward to Malaysian classics like the Beef Rendang with Nasi Lemak, Hawker rolls and the lemongrass mousse with goji berry, lychee and coconut brittle for a little something sweet.

On the drinks front, an eclectic array of cocktails amplifies the Woo story and continues the nod towards authenticity with a mix of revisited classics and fresh originals, inspired by the flavours of Malaysia. You won’t find an espresso machine at Madam Woo, instead they offer traditional Vietnamese drip coffee and Chinese loose-leaf tea - the perfect way to end your Madam Woo experience.
