Statistics for the 2014-15 year show that Hutt City Council community services and facilities like pools, libraries, recreation programmes and museums are being used more than ever.

In the last year, the eight Hutt City Libraries have served over a million customers. They delivered regular programmes like Lunch & Learn – Business Training and Tea and Tales as well as special events like the 3D printing lecture series and Hot Science – Cool Tales series.

950,000 visited Hutt City swimming pools and while all summer pools saw record increases it was year-round Naenae Pool that excelled.

Matt Reid, General Manager of Community Services said, “Since 1990 we’ve averaged 250,000 visitors annually at Naenae and this past year that’s skyrocketed to 458,000 visits.

“It’s a remarkable result, especially for our Naenae Pool team who’ve been incredibly busy but continued to deliver outstanding customer service to regulars and newcomers alike.”

Locals are also taking advantage of regular Leisure Active programmes and services too like Connex, Spark Sports and Easy Exercise, amongst others. Over the year these classes have had 700,000 attendances.

The Dowse Art Museum and Petone Settlers Museum had over 215,000 visitors. The Dowse also reinforced its national reputation by touring high-profile shows; most notably Wunderrūma, New Zealand's largest survey of contemporary jewellery, which is now showing at Auckland Art Gallery.

These Council facilities and services continue to receive high customer satisfaction ratings and were all delivered within budget.
