The effect of the slump in the dairy pay out and the Kiwi currency on Hawke’s Bay will be raised by top financial commentator Bernard Hickey when he speaks at the Business Breakfast in Napier next month.

Mr Hickey has spent nearly 25 years covering economics, business and Government in Auckland, Wellington, Canberra, Sydney, London and Singapore for Reuters, the FT Group, Fairfax and Interest.co.nz. A regular commentator on television and radio, he is now based in the Parliamentary Press Gallery in Wellington and publishes his own economic and political news email daily.

Mr Hickey will deliver his view of the national and regional economic outlook, including the latest on local economies, interest rates, house prices and Reserve Bank action. He'll tell us why there are plenty of sunny spots amid the headwinds.

The Business Breakfast Series, organised by Napier City Council, features inspiring business leaders speaking and leading discussion on a range of topics.  It is offered to the business community of Hawke’s Bay quarterly.
