Lotus Belle, a manufacturer of luxury canvas ‘glamping’ tents, is leading the way for unique accommodation trends this holiday season.

New Zealander, Jessica Walsh, and UK based friend Harriet Seddon designed and developed the tents from opposite ends of the earth. Having shared a childhood love of camping, and recognising the need for a more sustainable solution for the festival circuit, Lotus Belle was born.

A cross between a yurt and a bell tent, Lotus Belle tents have changed the face of camping across the globe with innovative designs that are stylish, spacious and sturdy.

Built to hold up in all conditions and experiences, the tent’s comes in both four and five metre varieties.  With more space than most bedrooms, the unique canvas and mesh design is virtually insect proof and provides ventilation, allowing you to comfortably stay in the tent no matter what the temperature or time of day.

“Lotus Belle tents are the perfect design and are made from quality canvas, so they are more breathable and longer lasting than a nylon nightmare,” said Walsh.

Although outdoor escapes are the obvious use for these tents, they are increasingly being used as unique Airbnb™ accommodation, eco-resorts and permanent add on’s for the backyard - whether it be as a play area for the kids or a quiet sanctuary to get away from it all.

Inspired by the motto ‘tents for life, not the landfill’, Lotus Belle tents are environmentally friendly and made with long-lasting natural materials.  They’re also waterproof and mould, mildew, rot and fire resistant.

The Lotus Belle range comes in three convenient sizes – four metres, five metres and the compact two-man Lotus Pearl – all of which can fit in the boot of a car and can be assembled by one person in approximately 45 minutes.

Prices start at $2,400 for the original four-metre Lotus Belle tent, while the five metres Outback version, which is 56% bigger, is $3,300.  For those after a more affordable and portable option for music festivals or for quick camping getaways, the Lotus Pearl retails for just $450.
