Following superb snow conditions and an extension to the 2015 season, Mt Ruapehu has today announced it will be offering New Zealand’s best day pass deal for skiing and boarding in October.

An Adult day pass for October will be $60, representing more than a 35% saving on the current full day pass rate at $95, and making this price the best value for spring skiing in New Zealand.

A Youth day pass for October will be $40 (current full day pass rate is $60). For both passes there will be a minimum two day purchase (Adult $120; Youth $80) and up to four days (Adult $240; Youth $120). Limited numbers apply.

The lift passes will be valid for use from 1 October up until the close of the season (26th October 2015), at both Turoa and Whakapapa ski areas. The lifts passes will be able to be used throughout the October school holidays.

Simon Dickson, Mt Ruapehu Executive Manager – Commercial, says these are exciting times for the public to get their hands on the best value day passes in New Zealand, and to take advantage of some superb spring snow conditions, and ride some of the largest terrain available at this time of the year.

“Snow levels at Turoa are currently sitting at a solid 2.2m base, and Whakapapa is sitting at 3m – a level that hasn’t been seen at the ski area since 2012,” says Mr Dickson. “It’s a great opportunity for those who want to take advantage of a spring break, or those who want to give skiing or boarding a go - $120 for two days skiing or boarding instead of $190 is certainly a great deal for adult passes, and we’re confident they will be popular,” says Mr Dickson.

“While spring has arrived and summer isn’t far away, Mt Ruapehu is still a winter wonderland which should continue throughout October,” says Mr Dickson.

The discounted Adult and Youth day passes are on sale from today until 30 September 2015 via Mt Ruapehu’s e-store only at www.mtruapehu.com.

For real-time snow progress, live webcams at both Whakapapa and Turoa show up-to-the minute updates. For more information, visit www.mtruapehu.com.
