Organisers of Sunday’s ASB Auckland Marathon will do their best to keep all participants fully up to date with the All Blacks quest for a second straight Rugby World Cup this weekend.

The showpiece final kicks off on Sunday November 1 at Twickenham at 5am (NZ time) which is one hour before the starting gun will be fired for the ASB Auckland Marathon and one hour and 50 minutes ahead of the start of the Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Half Marathon.

“To ensure that we as passionate All Blacks supporters can best follow the events in England, an agreement has been reached with Sky Television to broadcast live coverage of the final against the Wallabies on a big screen at the marathon and half-marathon start line on Windsor Reserve, Devonport,” said Jane Patterson, the Chief Operating Officer for ASB Auckland Marathon owners,  IRONMAN Asia-Pacific.

This will allow all Half Marathon entrants the chance to watch the entire game and organisers plan to keep marathoners fully updated throughout their time on the course.

For those who have entered in the brand new 12k Traverse event (9am), the Heart Foundation 5k Challenge (10am) or the Kids Marathon (11am), there is plenty of time to watch the final at home and hopefully join in a celebration run.

The annual race still holds genuine appeal with 12,475 entries across all five events. Rated by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) one of the world’s top 10 city marathons, entries this year have come from a record 63 countries with increases from Australia, USA, UK and China.
