There’s some advantages of being the first country in the world to see the light, we get Christmas early, Friday’s are earlier too, and best of all... we get to enjoy a Guinness on St. Patrick’s Day before anyone else!

Yes, for a nation that bleeds black it seems entirely appropriate that Kiwis are the first in the world to wet the shamrock with the liquid affectionately known as the black stuff.

Great in a pint and incredibly versatile when it comes to cooking and baking, Guinness, the world’s most famous stout, truly is a beer made of more.

And what’s more, the 2016 edition falls on a Thursday! Surely that’s the perfect excuse to take the Friday off?! Now that’s a thought definitely worth raising a Guinness to!

So whether it’s enjoying your colleagues baking, wetting your whistle with an after work pint with friends, or delving into some Guinness ice cream for dessert (it’s a thing!), there are plenty  of ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Guinness should be enjoyed on St. Patrick’s Day, and any other occasion, responsibly.

Sláinte! (Sloyn-cheh) Cheers!
