'Mum's the word' at Aria Restaurant & Bar

A sumptuous buffet-style High Tea experience is on offer this Mother’s Day at the award-winning Aria Restaurant & Bar.
 
Crowne Plaza Auckland is serving culinary delights on Sunday May 8 so families can say ‘thank you’ Mum in style!
 
Guests are invited to indulge in a selection of savoury and tasty sweet options with unlimited tea and coffee, and a complimentary glass of Deutz bubbles for each very special Mum on arrival.
 
The High Tea menu is being offered from 12 noon to 3pm for just $40 per adult, or $50 with a glass of bubbles, and $20 for children 12 years and under.
 
Executive Chef Adrian Walker described the buffet-style menu as a more relaxed ‘take’ on a traditional afternoon tea, enabling guests to “pick and choose” unlimited sweet and savoury treats.

“This style of dining ensures guests can be more adventurous with their choices, guaranteeing that the whole family can find something they love on the menu,” he said.
 
“Similar to our sharing menu launched earlier this year, we’re offering an interactive dining experience so everyone’s part of a fun, social food adventure.
 
“This Mother’s Day, guests can see Aria’s chefs working their culinary magic putting the final touches to our canapé-style delights at our live cooking station, ask any questions they want and taste dishes they might not usually sample!”
 
Chefs will be busy ‘flaming’ rhubarb-infused crème brûlée’s and the delicate ‘rolling’ of Akaroa cold smoked salmon Japanese egg rolls. 
 
Fresh, tasty savoury dishes include rare roasted beef, horseradish and watercress sandwiches, cherry tomato, caramelised onion and goat’s cheese tarts and star anise and cherry-glazed duck rillettes.

Sweet dishes include lemonade scones finished with vanilla mascarpone and jam, rosewater scones with citrus marmalade, opera cake or a chocolate and cherry tart.
